More than 520 customers attended Castell Howells food and drink trade show which was held in Carmarthen over two days on March 11th and 12th.
It was the biggest attendance ever recorded at the annual event hosted by Wales leading catering supplier.
Over 2000 products were showcased from 100 separate stands.
Customers, which included pub, café, deli, hotel and restaurant owners, were able to sample some of the best food and drink Wales has to offer, and were given demonstrations on site by food producers and professional chefs at the event.
"The event was a great success, in fact I am delighted to say that it has been our most popular show to date," said Castell Howells Managing Director Brian Jones.
"Clearly, the hospitality sector in Wales is in bullish mood ahead of the summer months, when traders will be looking for a boost after what has been a difficult period.
"In the current economic climate, extravagant holidays may not be an option for lots of people this summer, and we anticipate that many will choose to explore and enjoy what is closer to home.
"This provides an ideal opportunity for the food service sector in Wales because more evenings out, day trips and domestic holidaying are an affordable compromise, and food and drink plays a key role in this market.
"This is exactly what traders are hoping to capitalise on, and todays event helped to link more than 500 food service traders to over 100 of Wales best food and drink producers making for an exciting summer for consumers," he added.
Castell Howell also provided customers with some food for thought, by delivering workshops on how to meet consumer demands of quality, value and provenance, without compromising their healthy profit margins during what are difficult trading conditions.
Brian continued: "We understand the difficulties traders are facing so one of our aims was to increase awareness about effective menu planning and food preparation.
