The development which boasts a 103,000 sq.ft building, will lead the way with a state of the art cold store, as well as 16,000 sq.ft of office suites and amenity space. Externally, the site will incorporate over 150 car parking spaces, 48 truck parking spaces and 8 loading bays. This latest expansion is to be developed on a 7.4 acre site forming part of the wider Cross Hands Food Park. Once complete, the site will significantly increase operational efficiency and support rising customer demand.
Of the expansion Martin Jones said ''Growing up and watching my parents build Castell Howell from such humble beginnings has been incredibly special. To now see the business expanding on this scale, right here in our home county, is something that means a great deal to our whole family.
This project is far more than just a major investment in buildings and infrastructure, it’s an investment in our people, our customers, our community and the future of the business for generations to come.
Castell Howell has always been built on relationships, trust and supporting local communities, and we are immensely proud that this development continues that tradition. We’re especially pleased to be partnering with Jones Bros (Henllan) as the main contractor on the project. As a fellow Cross Hands business, they share many of the same values we do, and it’s important to us that local investment remains at the heart of this development, with several local contractors playing key roles throughout the build.
This is a milestone moment for everyone connected to Castell Howell and for all those who have supported us over the years. The loyalty and trust of our customers has made growth like this possible, and this development reflects our confidence, ambition and determination to keep building for the future.’’
The project is expected to take approximately two years to complete and it marks one of the most significant periods of growth in our history. It not only secures and protects existing jobs, but also creates the platform, capacity and infrastructure needed to support continued sustainable growth for many years to come.
